On the road in Finland: Europe’s Finest screens European classics

In co-operation with Finnkino, Europe’s Finest will run a European film classics cinema tour through twelve digitally equipped cinemas from Sodankylä to Helsinki between October and December of this year with more than 100 screenings in total.

The screening of the Finnish film, THE SONG OF THE SCARLET FLOWER, a very early work from 1938 by director Teuvo Tulio, promises to be of particular interest. Between October and December Roman Polanski’s earlier films REPULSION (1965) and CUL-DE-SAC (1966) will be screened, along with Jean Cocteau’s masterpiece ORPHÉE (1950), which has not been screened in Finland in many years, and I AM CURIOUS YELLOW by the Swedish director Vilgot Sjöman, which during its release in 1967 created a scandal due to its permissiveness.

For all films finnish subtitles were provided - a special service from Europe’s Finest which lifts language barriers and thus make the screening of films in many countries possible.
